for my birthday i am going to puerto rico!!!!

i am so ridiculously excited. although i have been plenty of times this time is going to be way different. i've never really have gotten the touristy experience. i remember as a kid i would dread going to puerto rico because we always stayed with my grandparents and they lived out in the boonies on top of a mountain. we always went in the summer and they didn't have a/c and it was miserably hot and crazy mosquitoes! and of course my grandpa had a chicken house in the back with roosters that would wake us up waayyy too early every morning. but now how i cherish those memories and wish i appreciated them more at my young age.

but like i said this time is going to be different because i will be staying at the ritz (which definitely has a/c) with my dear friend kelly. i plan to enjoy the beautiful beaches, experience the night life and explore the island of enchantment.

this vacation is definitely much needed and 25 is a milestone so i want to get far away from the stress of my life and really enjoy my birthday. i have a feeling this one is going down in the books.

i would also like a nintendo wii

wish list

so the birthday is in less than a month and i was asked what i wanted. well at the time i couldn't really think of anything so now as i sit here at my house i have some time to think and i came up with these pretty fabulous things.

of course i'll never get any of this but a girl can dream, right?

you can only trust yourself

a couple weeks ago i felt like i had my heart crushed in a million pieces. i had never felt so hurt in all my life and it was a really hard thing to swallow. the worst part is that it was done by the person i love and trust the most in the world.

how can you go on trusting people when the one person who was never suppose to betray you did? thats a question i'm still trying to answer.

but with every bad experience you have to learn from it and become stronger. i won't let anyone take away my joy. and i have learned that God is the one i can truly count on with all my heart and soul. seriously i don't know how people get through tough times without God.

it's been a hot minute

the past two weeks i have been a busy little bee and had no time for my dear little blog.

school has been crazy! the first day was complete madness and i can't even begin to explain all the things that were wrong. it's safe to say that the school i work at is the most unorganized and unprofessional school. ever.

but regardless of the craptastic school i love my job. i love the group of kids i have and i love teaching them. so i figure if i love it under these circumstances then i am on the right path. i just wish i could give them the best and it is impossible to do at this school. but i will make the best of it.

so i shall leave you with some pics of my parents and i trying to get my classroom ready on the sunday before school started, crazy i know! i will post after pictures but i'm still not completely done so that will be another hot minute.

feel like a kid again

i'm getting that nervous/excited feeling i use to get before the first day of school. i think it's ten times worst though because i didn't get nearly enough time to get my classroom ready since it was still under construction. but things are coming together i'm very excited.

the first day of school is also making me miss the first graders i had the opportunity to teach for the last few months of school last year. they were absolutely amazing and definitely set the bar high for all my future classes.

i went school supply shopping today and i got A LOT of stuff. i always loved school supply shopping when i was a kid and even as an adult whenever i go into an office max i want to get everything, is that weird? well at least now i have an excuse to do it every year:)

i have wonderful news!!

i'm was offered a position as a second grade teacher and i gladly accepted.

this has been such a looooong process for me and i am so relieved and excited to finally be starting my career. i have such a passion for this, i truly hope to make a difference and be a positive influence in children's lives.

scary part is that school starts in a week and a half so not too much time to prepare!

can't wait to go shopping for classroom stuff:)

last weekend i was in orlando for one of my dear friend's bridal shower. all the girls in attendance were past co-workers of mine from my days at discovery cove and it was so good to see everyone and catch up, especially my good friends because i miss them so much.

i am so happy and honored to be part of sara's wedding. she is one of my very best friend's and a friend i know i will have forever.

red robin

i have the biggest craving for red robin. i am so sad we don't have one here in miami. when i lived in chicago we went to red robin all the time. i love their burgers, fries, campfire sauce and their freckled lemonade. man i can taste it now.

lesson learned

this weekend i learned to never take my little jetta to transport 20 helium balloons. i couldn't see a thing and was surprised i got back to the house in one piece.
